Autism

My name is Penny Loafers (not really; that is my pseudonym). My brother, who turned 4 on May 24, was diagnosed with autism at about 18 months old. I will refer to him as Zar. Although he doesn't talk or act like a typical 4-year-old, he is still my pride and joy.

When my parents found out about the diagnosis, my father started working harder than he already did (which is saying a lot) and my mother applied for a part-time job at ExxonMobil to pay for his ABA (Advanced Behavior Analysis) therapy.

The ABA therapy we receive is sponsored by a program called OATH. A team of therapists come to the house to work with Zar.
